As a member of SelectHealth from VNS Health, you’re automatically enrolled in our Steps to a Healthier Life rewards program. With Steps, you can earn valuable rewards for completing certain health activities, like dental visits, eye exams, recommended screenings, and taking your medications as prescribed.

You can earn rewards by completing certain health activities. Talk to your provider about which activities are right for you.

You must be enrolled in the plan to get rewards.
We track your progress through claims your provider sends us. If you complete a health activity, the reward amount will be added to your Steps Rewards Card during the next reward period.
You’ll receive an Activity Report that shows which health activities you completed and how much you earned. You can also check your reward balance by:

You can use your rewards to buy eligible items:

Anywhere the OTC Network is accepted
(see a list of stores at mybenefitscenter.com or in the OTC Network app) -
At stores that accept VISA as long as they do not sell restricted items like alcohol, firearms, tobacco, or lottery tickets
Examples of where you can use your card:

Transportation: Train, subway, bus, gas stations

Utilities: Electric (Con Ed), heating, cable, phone bill

Food: Fast food places, bakeries, anywhere in the OTC Network

Daily Needs: Laundry, dry cleaners, school items, etc.

Clothing/Shoes: Department stores, discount stores, local clothing stores, shoe stores
Rewards cannot be used for gambling or turned into cash.
Note: If a store is part of the OTC Network, you can use your card there—even if the store sells restricted items. That’s because OTC Network stores can check what you’re buying and only approve allowed items. Stores that are not part of the OTC Network can’t do this, so your card might be declined even for items that should be covered.
Why doesn’t my card work everywhere?
Your card doesn’t work at every store because you can’t use your rewards to buy restricted items like alcohol, firearms, tobacco, or lottery tickets.

If your card doesn’t work at a store you’ve shopped at before, call us and let us know the store’s name and address. We’ll try to add the store to the OTC Network so you can keep using your card there.
No. Your rewards will not expire as long as you stay an active member of the plan.
Yes. Your card will be reloaded during the next reward period, so please keep it. You won’t receive a new card each year unless your current one is lost, stolen, or damaged.
